Hi, I'm Ankit Patel

I am a very enthusiastic person with a passion for coding and technology. My journey into coding began at university, where I had the opportunity to learn programming language like C and program micro-controllers using assembly language.

After coming to UK I started as a junior Import Consultant and worked my way up to Imports Manager. I developed my coding skills in my spare time through countless articles, blogs, tutorials, books and then I joined the self-funded Development Professional Programme at Just IT to persue my goal of a career in software development.I now have strong skills in C#, ASP.net, NET MVC, SQL server 2012 and object-oriented programming.

Now I am really looking forward to starting my software development career.


My Soft Skills

Communication

I have gained an excellent communication skills because of my daily interaction with customers at my previous job as a Imports Manager.Dealing with customers complaints effectively and addressing their concerns was an important aspect of my job.

Problem Solver

For me problems is an opportunity that makes me see things differently and to do things in a different way. Dealing with a problem and coming up with an innovative solution gives me positive sense of accomplisment.

Time Management

Time Management is really important for me as it helps me become more efficient and effective as a person and as a working individual. My previous work experience and my time at university did help me realise the importance of Time Managment, as it helps meeting deadlines with good quality work over quantity.

Organised

For me being orgaised is an important part of job, as it helps in being more Time Efficient, helps increasing productivity and reduce stress level. Its one of the main reason that i am able to meet all the dealines and deliver the results expected of me in time.

Logical Thinker

I enjoy the satisfation of a solving a difficult puzzle or fixing a bug. Logical thinking helps me complete a tast in a systematic, sequential decision-making method.

Team Work

Working with a team is always a joy, its always bring best out of me. All of my projects at university were completed in time becasue of our team work. Innovative solution to a complex problem can be easily achieved because of team work.

Electronics and Telecommunication Engineer.

Completed my Bachelors of Engineering in Electronics and Telecommunication from Pune University with 2:1 in 2006.

GSEB XIIth Exam - Equivalent to A-Levels

Complete my XIIth, Exam equivalent to A-levels form D.Z. PATEL School with 70% (Grade A) affiliated to GSEB in 2002.

GSEB Xth Exam - Equivalent to GCSE's.

Completed my Xth exam, equivalent to GCSE’s from K.J.THAKKER School, 79% (Grade A) affiliated to GSEB in 2000.

April-2016 - Present

Since April 2016 enrolled in a self-funded IT training course based in London at Just IT to improve my technical skills .Intensive in-class training course that aims to improve technical skills and provides hands-on experience by undertaking several individual projects.

Airport Cargo Ltd, Heathrow

May-2010 to April-2016

Worked at Airport Cargo Ltd as an Imports Manager, dealing with all the expects of freight forwarding & shipping. The jobs involves daily interation with importers, HMRC staff and Airlines, getting the goods cleared through customs and arrange delivery to importer.

CEVA Logistics, Heathrow

Nov 2007 - May 2010

Worked with CEVA Logistics as an import consultant for TNT UK Ltd.The day to day job involves booking in the jobs, updating the TNT’s Track and Trace systems with the relevant information for the job, interacting with the customer and getting the required clearance instruction, clearing the goods through customs and keeping customer informed.
